This first image illustrates the depth of field Martha’s new camera is capable of capturing. She took this photograph in early January as she was familiarizing herself with the gift Santa supplied back in December!

This next photograph harkens back to the iconic image taken by Bill Timmerman almost 15 years prior – that classic view of the west face of the Byrne residence from just outside the patio wall, looking east.

…and how about the bobcat that decided to take a nap on the patio just outside the Lower Level Living Room in early January! We were beside ourselves with delight! We caught our first glimpse as the bobcat was meandering around the auto court, then carefully monitored its progress down the path on the east side of the house, then to the south-facing patio for – quite literally – a short cat nap!

Two days later the very same animal paid us a second visit toward sunset! Bill & Carol Byrne had joined us for dinner that evening at the Byrne residence – we were all sitting at the Dining Room table when Carol spotted the bobcat as it was picking its way between the cholla and saguaro just beyond the west patio wall. Kismet, no?
